Set up to train students to master strategies in solving Mathematics problems under the Filomaths System developed by the Founder of MATHS SPECIALIST - Mr K L Chua, has received much recognition for the difference it has made in assisting its students to cope with the challenge of mastering the Mathematics subject. Having acquired a countless number of testimonials attesting to the effectiveness of the Filomaths system, and having been awarded "The Preferred Choices of Singapore" in Education & Enrichment by SG Preferred, and ASIA Pacific Brands Awards for 2 consecutive years. MATHS SPECIALIST sees its mission as being to transform the practice of Mathematics as a Life Skill, which once mastered will equip any student to be capable of handling any challenges in the life, and stay Positive in the Worst Environment.

Recognizing that all Mathematics problems contain keywords which denote the most relevant elements of every equation, Mr Chua's Filomaths system aids students in mastering three categories of necessary skill sets; Observation, where students learn to recognize keywords and making use of them to discover the underlying equation to be solved. Analysis, where students train their pattern recognition skills and common sense to eliminate any possibility of careless mistakes that have been committed; and last but not least, the Filomaths Apples' Story Presentation, where students create a mental framework of the problem in order to apply the appropriate strategies to arrive all solution.

With two branches in Hougang and Toa Payoh, staffed by two full-time Mathematics teachers and 5 Assistants, the MATHS SPECIALIST's Filomaths System emphasizes a flexible approach to handling Mathematics questions, and encourage students to make use of alternative methods of solving the problems if it will get them the correct answer. More than that however, Mr Chua firmly believes that the Filomaths approach to tackling Mathematics questions is also applicable to everyday life, and that his students will come out of his Filomaths programme with a better grasp of problem-solving skills for not only the Mathematics subject, but also for every challenge in life.
